Uku-Littles
Ages 4 - 7 years
The Uku-Littles is a play based Ukulele program for children from 4-7 years old. In this class the children will experience a smooth transition from their primary instrument (voice & body) to a secondary instrument (the ukulele!). We will not play the ukulele for the full 45 minutes each week- but rather mix in a variety of rhythm and music reading exercises to ensure that the class is engaging, fast paced and age appropriate. If the children want to perform, there will be opportunities, but this not required.
Is a Ukulele Required?
We will have extra ukuleles on hand, but your child will likely enjoy having their own. Ukuleles are relatively inexpensive at about $45 a piece. If you need help shopping, let us know! Your child can pick a colour or design that expresses who they are and they will likely become sentimentally attached to it. Some musicians even give their favourite instruments a name.
This is an opportunity to learn responsibility and respect for an important piece of equipment without the big price tag!
